Instructional Coach
I am very excited about taking on this new position this year! This is my tenth year in education. I graduated from Lake Forest College, and later received my Masters of Arts in Reading at Concordia University. I started my career as a 3rd grade teacher in Waukegan for 6 years, then moved on to teach 7th grade in Beach Park for the last three years. In Waukegan, I was extremely active in various PLC's such as the Writing Team, the Literacy Team, and the Data Team. I also served as team lead for a few years. As a 7th grade teacher at the middle school, I quickly became involved with teachers as well as students. I served on the BLT team, assisted with the National Junior Honor Society, and led the Dance Club for BPMS students. In addition to teaching, I am also a certified personal trainer, health coach, fitness instructor, business owner, mommy, and wife! The art of teaching is fascinating to me, and I am devoted to helping children and teachers be their best! I believe one of the most essential keys to becoming a successful educator is to first become a lifelong learner. What does this look like in the classroom? It simply means that you first start out by learning from your students and tapping into their interests and strengths. I personally have embraced this theory and believe that this will be the year that I will grow tremendously as an educator while working with new and veteran teachers and students in Beach Park. I am passionate about helping others overall and coaching them through their process. I have been officially assigned to Kenneth Murphy, New Port, and BPMS. Hopefully, I will get the opportunity to work with you. I am positive that this year will be a-mazing! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I am here for you! I look forward to working with you all this year! |
